Betty Marie Fowler Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty Marie Fowler, 61 of Whittemore died Friday October 23, at Kossuth Regional Hospital in Algona. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Algona with burial to follow in the West Bend Cemetery, at a later date. Visitation is from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home in West Bend. Betty Wilson, the daughter of Virgil and Bertha (Marti) Wilson was born March 15, 1948 in Algona. She was raised and recieved her education in West Bend, attending Sts. Peter and Paul's School and graduating from the West Bend High School. She married James Fowler in November of 1963 and to this union was born six children: Lyndon (Mary) Fowler of Algona, IA, Jason(Paula) Fowler of Ottosen, Melissa (Richard) Vaske of Bode, IA, Natalie (Dave) Fowler of Mankato, Minnesota, Penny (Jim) Bollinger of Fenton, IA, and Charles (Jennifer) Fowler of Byron, Minnesota. Other survivors include her loving partner Bob Schwade of Whittemore and his sons who Betty treated as her own, Robert and Brian, 10 grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Marian, Suzanne, Glen, Bob, Linda, Theron, Virgil, Marlon, John, Bill, Jim, and Gloria. Betty lived the majority of her life in the Whittemore, Algona and West Bend area. She was an excellent cook and worked as a cook at many resturants in the area. She owned and operated the State Street Diner in Algona and Racers Bar and Grill in Sexton. She also worked at Caseys in West Bend for 8 1/2 years. Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
