Bonnie Mae Christensen

September 24, 1949 - January 25, 2009

Bonnie Mae Christensen, 59, of Gilmore City died peacefully at her home January 25, 2009. Bonnie was born September 24, 1949 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She attended and graduated from the Gilmore City Bradgate High School in 1967. She attended nursing school in Des Moines and furthered her education receiving a degree as a nurse practitioner. Bonnie lived most of her life in the Gilmore City area working in the health care field, at various nursing homes in the area. She relocated to Tanana, Alaska where she served as the areas primary care provider. She returned from Alaska due to illness in May of 2006. Bonnie is survived by her four children: Dylan (Jill) Hamilton, Ankeny,IA, Heather (Mike) Callon, Fort Dodge, IA, Kara Dickey, West Des Moines, IA, and Brian Dickey of Fort Dodge, Ia, grandchildren, Drew and Drake Callon, father Elwyn B. Christensen, Gilmore City, IA, three brothers and one sister. She was preceded in death by her mother Grace Christensen. Bonnie enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, reading, knitting, and gardening. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:30 AM at the Harris Funeral Home in Gilmore City. Visitation will be held from 4-7 Pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be sent to harrisfuneralservices.com
