Edna M. Banwart

Edna M. Banwart, 96 of West Bend died Wednesday November 11, 2009 at the West Bend Care Center. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church, West Bend with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 PM Friday at the Apostolic Fellowship Center. Harris Funeral Home of West Bend is in charge of arrangements. Edna M. Schneider, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Christen)Schneider was born January 16, 1913 in West Bend, Iowa. She was raised and educated in West Bend, graduating from the West Bend High School in 1931. She was united in marriage with Levi Banwart on March 2, 1938 in Lamar, Missouri.Edna was baptized in 1954 in West Bend. The couple lived and farmed in West Bend during their married lives. Edna loved quilting, sewing and cooking for her entire family. She was also a 4-H leader for many years. She moved to Prairie Creek Assisted Living in 2003 and had been a resident of the West Bend Care Center since October of 2007. Survivors include sister in law, Ella Schneider of West Bend, step brother Ervin (Nettie) Banwart of West Bend, and numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Levi in 1978, sisters: Nellie Sauder, Lillian Lehman, Marie Schafer and Nima Fehr,and brothers: Noah, Leslie, Eli, Paul, Lawrence and Francis Schneider.
