Eva Pearl Banwart Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Eva P. Banwart, 94 of West Bend died August 28,2011 at the West Bend Care Center. Services will be held Thursday, September 1, 10:00 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church, West Bend with burial to follow in the Apostolic Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 PM Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home in West Bend. Eva Pearl (Zaugg) was born November 6, 1916 in rural West Bend, IA. She was the 6th child of 13 born to William and Rosa (Christen) Zaugg. She grew up on a farm near West Bend and cared for her other siblings. She graduated from the West Bend Community School in 1935. On January 4, 1939 she was unied in marriage to Arlie Banwart in Algona, IA and resided on a farm in rural West Bend. To this union were born twins Gary and Gayle on July 4th and 5th, 1940, and Karen on May 21, 1946. In 1975 Arlie and Eva retired from farming and moved to West Bend. In 2007 Eva moved to the West Bend Care Center. Eva kept busy being a homemaker and quilter. She frequently entertained family members and will be remembered for her sugar cookies, angel food cake and strawberries. Eva was also a mender of all things and could be found quilting or embroidering and has left many beautiful quilts for her family to cherish her memory. Survivors include her daughters, Gayle (Bob) Burns of Sedona, AZ and Karen ( Duane) Seegebarth of Lone Rock, IA and daugher in law Luella Banwart of West Bend, 13 grandchidren, 30 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, sisters Leah Franck of Battle Creek, MI, Elma Mogler of West Bend, IA, and Rudy (Bob) Besch of Rodman, IA, sisters-in-law Helen Zaugg, Frances Zaugg and Dorothy Zaugg and brother-in-law Albert Banwart all of Wewt Bend. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arlie in 1986, son Gary in 1999, grandson, Brandon Bierstedt, sisters Louisa Zaugg, Mabel Ruth Zaugg, Betty Rose Banwart and brothers Clarence, Don, Walter, Edward, Oscar and Richard Zaugg.
