Gladys A. McCullough

Gladys A. McCullough, 104 of Mallard died Tuesday October 18, 2011 at the Emmetsburg Care Center. Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church, Mallard with burial to follow in the Rush Lake Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 AM Saturday until service time at the church in Mallard. Harris Funeral Home of Mallard is in charge of arrangements. Gladys A. (Forsyth), the daughter of Thomas A. and Anna C. (Sonnicksen) Forsyth was born June 2, 1907 in Burlington, Colorado. She began school in Ortago, Kansas and in 1914 moved with her familhy to Sac County, Iowa. On August 11, 1927 she was united in marriage with Charles McCullough. The couple farmed near Fonda and in 1945 moved north of Mallard. In 1970, they retired and moved to town in Mallard. Charles died in 1985. Gladys was a resident of the Emmetsburg Care Center since November of 2007. Survivors inlcude her daughter and son in law, Norma and Ted Larson of Mallard, Iowa, 4 grandchildren, thirteen Great Grandchildren, 28 great great Grandchildren, 3 sister in laws, along with nieces and nephews. Gladys enjoyed playing cards, reading, crocheting and family gatherings. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mallard and was active in the circles of the church.
