Matilda F. Fehr

October 11, 1918 - December 18, 2013

Matilda F. Fehr.. Matilda Knobloch, the daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Traub) Knobloch was born October 11, 1918 in Alvord, Iowa. She was educated in Logan #6 Country School. As a young lady, Matilda found the need to seek the Lord in repentance and was baptized in 1937. She soon moved to Elgin, IL, where she was employed until her marriage. She was united in marriage with Elmer P. Fehr on November 2, 1941 in Lester, Iowa. The couple spent their married lives farming in the West Bend area, moving to town in 1974. They enjoyed 30 years of spending their winters in Zapata, Texas. In their retirement, they enjoyed woodworking and traveling. We are thankful to have been blessed with a mother who left us with an example of how to live a life of Godliness with contentment. Survivors include her children: Doris ( Martin) Zaugg of West Bend, IA, Wayne (Kathy) Fehr of Salem, OR, Robert (Barbara) Fehr of Blue Grass, IA, James (Sharon) Fehr, Ruth (Duane) Metzger and Daniel(Eunice) Fehr of West Bend, IA; 36 grandchildren, 121 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother Dale (Mary) Knobloch of Rock Rapids, IA; three sisters: Dena (Calvin) Weiss of Sabetha, KS, Gladys Knobloch of Rock Rapids, IA and Betty(Clarence) Dietrich of Salem, OR; sisters-in-law Elgeva (Arthur)Knobloch of Lester, IA and Hulda (Fred) Wirtz of West Bend, IA. Matilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Nathan, Edwin, Arthur and Orvie; sisters Eunice Knobloch, and Ella Mae Schmidt and one great grandchild. Services will be held Sunday, December 22, 1:00 PM at the Apostolic Christian Church in West Bend with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-7 PM Saturday at the Apostolic Fellowship Center. Harris Funeral Home of West Bend is in charge of arrangements. www.harrisfuneralservices.com
