Mildred M. Gilmore

November 19, 1923 - January 5, 2014

Services for Mildred M. Gilmore, 90 of West Bend and formerly of Whittemore will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Whittemore with burial to follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 9-11 AM Thursday at the church. Harris Funeral Home, West Bend is assisting the family. Mildred M. Faulstick, the daughter of Hugo and Dora (Gade) Faulstick was born November 19, 1923 in Fenton, Iowa. Mildred was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended parochial school in Lotts Creek, Iowa and graduated from the Algona High School in 1942. She worked at Druggists Mutual Insurance Company in Algona for 3 years and was married to Forrest Gilmore of Corwith, IA, on September 29, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lotts Creek, Iowa. The couple made their home in Whittemore, residing there for 30 years. Mildred was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the LWML Society, and sang in the church choir for many years. She loved to cook and entertain friends and was known for her chicken and noodles and chocolate dessert. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and playing cards. Her biggest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 67 years Forrest, children: Daniel and Bobbie Gilmore,of Utah, Connie(Mrs. Joe) Bonnstetter of Belmond, IA and Jocelyn and John Krukow, of Arizona, 8 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren, brother, William Faulstick of Arizona and sister Lorna Wallukait of Des Moines, IA, along with many nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Victor, sister Marie Theesfield and grandson Dirk Gilmore. online condolences to www.harrisfuneralservices.com
