Norma Maxine Dogotch

October 17, 1922 - March 3, 2009

Norma Maxine Dogotch was born October 17, 1922 near Ottosen, Iowa to Clarence and Edna (Grove) McCullough. She was rasied on a farm west of West Bend. She graduated from the West Bend High School in 1940 and then worked as a clerk in the Palo Alto County Engineer's office in Emmetsurg. She was united in marriage to Delbert Dogotch of Whittemore December 4, 1946 at the United Methodist Church in West Bend. After their marriage they lived and farmed 40 years in the West Bend and Whittemore area where they raised their family. While on the farm, Norma enjoyed gardening, sewing, soap operas, and reading. She also enjoyed the family dogs and one special pony. In 1985 Norma and Delbert retired to town in West Bend. For years before and after retirement, Norma ejoyed traveling with Delbert throughout the United States. They traveled through every state except Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Hawaii. She loved visiting family on their trips as much as when family came home to visit. She also enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, whether in her home or theirs. In 1996 Norma was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. With Delbert's help and care, she was able to live at home until 2002 when she became a resident of the West Bend Care Center. She passed away March 3, 2009 at the West Bend Care Center, having reached the age of 86. Surviving Norma is her husband, Delbert of West Bend, IA, and her children: Cheryl (Tim) Marr of Cresent, IA, Ronald (Diana) Dogotch of Houston, Texas, and Joyce (Ken) Russell of Lincoln, Nebraska, 5 grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Kimberly, Heidi and Katie, two step grandchildlren, Johanna and James, two great grandsons, Jaxson and Spencer, greatgranddaughter Eve, a brother Marvin(Ellen) McCullough of Dakota City, IA, and several nieces and nephews. Norma was a member of the United Methodist Church in West Bend and was preceded in death by an infant son Robert, her parents, two sisters Audrey and Maida, and one brother Lee.
