Raymond Post

September 6, 1925 - April 1, 2013

Raymond Post, Humboldt, formerly of Gilmore City died Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Humboldt Care Center South. Services will be held Thursday, 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City with burial to follow in Marble Valley Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home in Gilmore City. Raymond Post, the son of Habbe Harm and Mary Anna(Buske) Post was born in Lake Township (Gilmore City), Pocahontas County, Iowa on September 6, 1925. He attended Pocahontas County Country School and Gilmore City High School through the 10th grade. He also served his country in the United States Army from 1950-1952 in the Korean Conflict. Raymond was united in marriage with Gaetana "Tina" Carrubba in Chicago, Illinois in 1953. The couple lived and farmed their entire lives in the Gilmore City area before moving to Humboldt in 1986. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and his family. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Gilmore City and had been a resident of the South Care Center since April of 2012. Survivors include his children: Karen (John III) Finical of Tama, IA, Rickey Post of Humboldt, IA, and Allison (Steven) Ripperger of Fort Dodge, IA, grandchildren, John (Kristen) Finical IV of Imogene, IA, Michelle Finical of Tama, IA, Erica Post of Humboldt, IA, Katelyn (Andrew) Tenold of Lake Mills, IA, Andrea (Adam) Laubenthal of Bradgate, IA, and Audra Marvin of Fort Dodge, IA, Great Grandchildren: Ella Finical, John Finical V, and Adalyn and Alayna Laubenthal, and a sister Marie (Paul) Martin of Yakima Washington and many special nieces and nephews.
