Wendy Wintjen Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wendy Wintjen, age 57, of Lone Rock passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Lone Rock American Legion. Wendy JoAnne Wintjen, the daughter of Terry and Sharon (Strickland) Albert, was born on September 16, 1963 in Galesburg, Illinois. In December 2003, Wendy was united in marriage to Howard Wintjen in Morrison, Illinois. Wendy worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant in the healthcare field. Wendy loved to cook and feed her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Wendy enjoyed crocheting and shopping. Left to cherish Wendy’s memory is her significant other, Carl Olson of Alpha, MN; children, Robert Dolan of Boonville, NY, Christopher (William) Reffke of Wonder Lake, IL, Elvis Aaron (Beth) Harris of Faucett, MO, Rebecca (Jennifer) Love of Fulton, IL and Andrew (Kayla) Tripp of Lone Rock, IA; sixteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; father, Terry (Donna) Albert of Rock Island, IL; siblings, Robert (Karen) Albert of Monmouth, IL, Cathy (Michael) Roundtree of Burlington, IA, Kimberli (Casey) Helms of Kiethsburg, IL, Melissa Sharp of Galesburg, IL, Darlene Albert of Burlington, IA, Tracy (Aaron) Lufkin of Lone Rock, IA and Brian Lour of Seattle, WA; step children, Sonny (Tina) Wintjen of Fulton, IL and Cindy Wintjen of Rock Falls, IL and step brother, Todd (Robin) Stone of Rock Island, IL. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Freeland; husband, Howard Wintjen; son, Laurance Arthur Elgin Jr.; granddaughter, Zoe Bonell and grandson, Angel Elgin.
